Scam Alert
This is a possible phishing scam. I suggest that you share this information with as many
people as possible.
I was listening to a radio program on December 5th. One of the show's personalities
mentioned that she received a form for a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit supposedly was
brought against a credit card company for manipulating exchange rates from purchases
abroad. If she chose to use the quick option she would receive twenty-five dollars simply for
signing the form and mailing the form back to the requester. At that point, if this is a scam,
she will have sent someone her signature. The second option involved receiving more
money. In order to receive payment for the second option the claimant had to supply the
bank account number with various other personal information, sign the claim, and mail it
out. This may or may not be a scam but it has many of the makings of one. If you are in a
similar situation I suggest that you research the matter thoroughly before sending your
information to unknown parties.
